This performance by snails in leading roles as astronauts is part of a series that makes mischief with the notion of “invasive species”: the snails are metaphors for a range of topics--migration, refugees, public secrets, settlements, climate change, conspiracy theories.

These snails “petit-gris” are originally from South- and Southwest Europe, but have migrated all over Europe and the United States with the help of human beings. They are edible, are used for the production of cosmetics and are also considered a pest by some people for eating their plants.
