Chantons en Choeur

“Chantons en Choeur” (2002) involved ten choirs from all over Togo to speak out for HIV prevention, care and acceptance of people living with HIV in a nationwide contest. Choirs from different Christian denominations across the country wrote songs. They performed them live for a Togolese jury with members from different backgrounds: f.e. clergy, AIDS experts, people living with HIV, musicians and journalists.

The top four finalists got to record their songs at a professional studio which was put out as a mini-album by UNDP. At the time of its making Togo had an HIV prevalence of 6%, AIDS medicines were not available, and many international organizations had left the country.
